Cassie is one of my wife's co-workers. Before she became engaged her father was diagnosed with terminal cancer and the reality of him not making it to her wedding day became real.
When my wife told me about this we contacted Cassie and told her to get her dress, get her dad his tux and lets do a first look. We got together one night at the church and her dad got dressed to the nines, Cassie got her hair and makeup done, got her flowers and got into her dress that had not yet been altered.
Then these moments happened.
The most impressive thing was how this family handled the entire situation. Cassie's dad knew where he was going. He knew that his eternity rested in the hands of his Savior, Jesus. He knew this. His wife knew this. Cassie knew this. We knew this.
So even in the midst of real moments where loss is real and heavy, there was an amazing amount of hope. There was also a dad and a daughter who got to walk down the aisle together.
