Joel Gutowsky Photography

Someone once said that a picture is worth a thousand words.  Though this is true, a photograph is much, much more.  A photograph is full of memories.  The memory of the moment.  The memory of the day.  The memory of a specific time in our lives.  The memory of a feeling of love.  The memory of a feeling of accomplishment.  The memory of a story.

Each day we live is another day added to our story.  It is my deepest desire to be much more than a photographer.  It is my deepest desire to be a story teller;  to tell the story of your wedding day, to tell the story of your love, to tell the story of your moments.

On this website you will see portions of many different stories.  Stories of love and wedding days.  Stories of senior years and the ones living them.  Stories of new life and families.

Please, enjoy your stay here.  It is my hope that you get caught up in the stories of these unique individuals.

New to the store!

There has been a recent new addition to the Joel Gutowsky Photography store!  This is a Little Kiss.  It is 4″x4″ of leather bound, custom designed, album goodness!  I designed one to have in my portfolio using my cousins senior session.  You will also see a set of swatches showing all the colors of leather you can get.  I’m extremely excited to have these as another tool to use to tell your story.

Hayden – Class of 2010

A few months ago I went and got my hair cut by my good friend Chelsea.  About this time I had been thinking about different ways to get my name out there in the photography world.  Chelsea does hair for proms, weddings, etc. so I thought I would take some of my business cards to give her to see if she could give them away to clients.  She was excited at the opportunity to promote me and took my cards.  Not 10 minutes after I left the salon, Hayden’s mom came in to get her hair cut and asked Chelsea if she happened to know any photographers.  Chelsea got a big smile on her face and then gave her my card.  I’m so grateful she did.

This is Hayden.  He is a drummer, just like me, so we had plenty to talk about while we did his senior session.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Sarah – Class of 2010.

Allow me to introduce you to Sarah.  Sarah is a friend of my cousin Stephanie (from the previous post).  Sarah and her family grew up camping at Brazos Bend State Park.  There was no other place she wanted to take her pictures.  So off to Brazos Bend we went.  Here are a few of my favorite from the day.
